How to Commission Bespoke Jewellery
Whether you are looking for a unique engagement or wedding ring, remodeling a sentimental family heirloom or simply a variation on one of the designs from my collection, I can bring your vision to life
You will be closely involved throughout the design and making process so you can be confident that the result will be exactly as you had envisaged.
STEP 1
Starting the Process of Commissioning a Bespoke Piece of Jewellery
The process of creating your bespoke piece of jewellery begins with a chat, either over the phone or via email. We will talk through your ideas, discuss any styles you may like and inspirations you may have in mind. It might be that you have a clear idea of what you would like or may want some guidance on design and materials.
If you would like some inspiration you could browse through my collections, sketchbook or Instagram to see some of the design possibilities. If you see a piece you like we can use this as a starting point for your design and begin to refine it and make it truly unique to you. I am always happy to chat, so please do get in touch if you would like to talk through the options.
STEP 3
Pencil to Paper
The initial meeting will help me to clarify your needs and establish a brief to begin the design process. This is one of my favorite parts of bringing something new and unique to life. I have always enjoyed drawing and take pride in my designs.
I will do a series of designs for you to choose from. You will be closely involved during the process and the designs may evolve over time. You are welcome to request any changes as we start the journey or creating your perfect piece.
If you are based outside of London I will email sketches and photographs to you. I have worked with clients around the world in this way.
STEP 5
Bringing Your Bespoke Commission to Life
Commissioning allows you to become part of the entire design process from concept to creation and fully appreciate the craftsmanship as your piece progresses.
The jewellery-making process is fascinating and exciting. I love sharing this part of the journey and I am always happy to record this process and send you updates along the way.
I believe in creating long lasting designs that have an investment in the quality of craftsmanship. I approach every project with meticulous care and attention to detail so you can be confident that your jewellery will last for generations.
Get in touch, I would love to hear from you
STEP 2
How Much Does it Cost to Commission a Bespoke Piece of Jewellery?
Each project is unique, the center stone and materials will be a major determining factor. There are many options to choose from and your design can be tailored according to your budget.
I will provide quotes for your designs in a range of various precious metals. I will also source a variety of stones for you to choose from so we will have a broad price range to work within.
A deposit of £150 will be charged before the initial designs are created. This will be taken off the final amount. The designs can be adjusted until it is exactly as you had envisioned. Once we have landed on a final design a 50% deposit will be required before I start making your project. The final payment will be upon completion. I am always happy to discuss payment plans too.
STEP 4
Sourcing Your Perfect Gemstones and Diamonds
I can source beautiful Gemstones and Diamonds to suit your project and budget. My gemstones are sourced from trusted suppliers that I have been working with for many years. I only use conflict free diamonds.
The beauty in commissioning a bespoke piece of jewellery is that you have the option to create something very unique. I love working with unusual cuts and can even cut your gemstone to your specifications.
I will provide you with a selection of gemstones to choose from so that you can create the piece of jewellery you have been dreaming of.
STEP 6
All Good Things…
Each bespoke piece presents a unique design challenge and these precious objects take time to create. It is important to remember that the commission process is often not a quick one, and completion time can be an estimate, rather than a firm date.
If you have a deadline please discuss this when commissioning. I generally recommend 8 weeks for a bespoke commission although this may vary. If you have an urgent deadline it is sometimes possible to fast track the process. Please get in touch and we can talk through the options.
